Teen Counseling

Everyone faces struggles in their life, regardless of the stage of life in which they find themselves. School stress, peer pressure, and family conflict are only a few of the issues with which teens today are confronted. I strive to create an atmosphere in which my clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and struggles. We work to find solutions for circumstances that are within the individual’s control, and build the ability to seek and implement solutions individually. We also learn positive coping skills to use when circumstances are not changeable, and how to determine which approach is right for a given situation.

While the majority of counseling with teens takes place on an individual basis, it is often necessary and helpful to work with the client’s parents and/or family members, in session, to help them achieve their goals.
